Born in Rio de Janeiro and not a stranger to big cities, Dan moved to the UK in 2003 to pursue a career in film making.
Having bristol as his Initial base and completing a BA (HONS) in Media Practice at Bristol UWE, Dan travelled with his graduation film "Ambulantes", which was screened at Sheffield International Documentary Festival, Brief Encounters Festival in Bristol, and Diversity in place Festival at the University of Hawaii.
After a couple of years working for the BBC as a junior researcher, Dan was offered a position with photographer Rankin (co-founder of Dazed & Confused Magazine and Another Magazine), where he helped create and set-up the new Rankin Films department - shooting and directing fashion films, promos and behind the scenes teasers.
From this experience with Rankin, Dan went to become the Head of Video for Crane.tv, looking after the aesthetics and every visual aspects of the editorial and commercial departments, as well as managing a team of Videographers and Editors.
Dan now works full time as a Shooting Director on comissions ranging from fashion films to short documentaries and commercial promos with a distinctive edge, for clients including H&M, Topshop, Vogue, Galerie Lafayette, La perla, Tommy Hilfiger and John Lewis.
